Locked In Art began during one of the hardest moments of our lives.
Roman and I have been building a life together since we were young. Over the years, we created a home filled with animals, creativity, and eventually, our son Anthony. Our days were spent working side by side, raising a family, and slowly growing what started as a small handmade jewelry business into something that allowed us to work from home together.
Like many families, our pets were never just pets. They were part of our routines, our workspace, and our sense of home.
One of those was Ike.
He wasn’t a kitten when we found him, just a confident orange-and-white cat wandering through a parking lot like he already knew he belonged somewhere. From the moment we brought him home, he became part of our family.
Years passed, and Ike was always there, especially during the early days of our workshop. He’d nap nearby while we worked, keeping quiet company as we built our business by hand. He was part of that chapter of life, one we’ll always be grateful for.
Then one day, everything changed.
We lost Ike suddenly and tragically. It was the kind of loss that leaves a space in your life you don’t quite know how to fill. The quiet feels louder, the routines feel different, and the absence is constant.
Around that same time, a customer reached out asking if we could create a memorial bead using ashes for her beloved pet.
The timing felt almost impossible to ignore.
We created her piece, and at the same time, we made one for Ike.
That moment changed everything.
Taking something as final as loss and transforming it into something you could hold, something beautiful, something permanent, it gave us a sense of comfort we didn’t expect. It didn’t take the grief away, but it gave it a place to live.
That was the beginning of Locked In Art.
We had already spent years working with glass and metal by hand, but this work became something entirely different. It became personal. It became meaningful in a way we had never experienced before.
Since then, we’ve helped thousands of families and pet owners create handmade memorial jewelry and cremation jewelry to honor the ones they love. Every story is different, but the feeling behind them is always the same.
We understand what you’re going through because we’ve been there too.
Today, we continue to create each piece by hand from our studio in Prescott, Arizona. It’s still just the two of us, working side by side like we always have, carefully crafting each memorial piece with the same level of care we gave to Ike’s.
These days, with Anthony grown and out on his own, we’ve found a new rhythm. When we’re not in the studio, you’ll usually find us out on the trails, hiking through the Prescott National Forest and recharging in the same quiet spaces that continue to inspire our work.
This isn’t just what we do, it’s why we do it.
Every piece we create is meant to carry something forward, love, memory, and connection, through handcrafted memorial jewelry that’s made to last.
